Viime aikoina vahvasti esiintynyt ja kuusi pelaajaa maailman kärkikymmeniköstäkin voittanut Makin pisti Äijäsen ahtaalle. Äijänen kuitenkin aloitti reippaasti ja tarjosi squashyleisölle viihdyttävää katsottavaa. Pelin edetessä tasoero tuli kuitenkin selväksi, ja Äijänen joutui taipumaan erin 0-3.
”Miko pelasi oikein hyvin, mutta Makinilla on aivan jäätävä peruslyönti. Rullaan kun joutuu, niin siitä on vaikea päästä pois”, Äijäsen valmentaja Sami Elopuro totesi.

Kakkospelaajien kohtaamisessa jalkavaivoista kärsinyt Olli Tuominen hävisi Emyr Evansille 0-3.. ”Vaikeahan se on voittaa tämän tason pelaajia yhdellä jalalla. Lisäksi pelirutiinin puute alkaa näkyä””, Tuominen summasi.
Aamun tiukimmassa ottelussa Matias Tuomi kohtasi Walesin kolmospelaajan Owain
Taylorin. Tuomi hävisi ensimmäisen erän jatkopalloilla 13–15 ja johti kolmatta erää jo 10–7. Lopulta numerot kirjattiin Taylorille 3-0 (15-13 11-6 12-10).
Eilen voiton makuun päässyt Kristian Rautiainen oli tänään aseeton Peter Creediä vastaan. Creed liikkui sähäkästi ja vei ottelun nimiinsä 3–0.
Illan ottelussa Triplan lasikentällä Suomi saa vastaansa vahvan Saksan, joka voitti Unkarin otteluin 4–0.
